The ABIS teaching team is passionate about their work as educators and committed to ensuring each child can thrive and reach their full potential. Our teachers come from all over the world, from diverse countries and cultures, but what they share is their commitment to an inquiry based education and their strong focus on student well-being, complemented in the classroom by dynamic teaching practices.
Teaching an IB programme is a rewarding experience for every teacher, as they play a fundamental role in the creation of internationally minded, knowledgeable adults for the future. ABIS teachers are living, breathing embodiments of the IB pedagogy.
As our PYP Coordinator Charlotte Balsom says, “How can you teach inquiry if you don’t inquire yourself? How can you expect students to be open-minded if your own mind is closed?”.
The IB demands as much from its teachers as it does from students and our teachers are more than up to the task. They demonstrate high standards of teaching and learning with a focus on international mindedness. They are reflective practitioners using inquiry based strategies to motivate and challenge all learners. Indeed, a can-do attitude, creativity and passion are essential requirements to work here at ABIS!
Our most recent IB Evaluation Report, stated that we have “built a stimulating environment based on understanding and respect throughout the whole school community” and this is in no small part, due to our great teaching team!
